#1 – Fried Chicken
Fried food is known for its very high cholesterol and fat content, but the problem is that chicken does sound healthy. For instance, let’s take four pieces of KFC’s Chicken, which is equal to eating 920 calories, 350mg of cholesterol, and 63g of fat. That’s beside the fat-laden sides!
Eat this instead: Grilled and skinless chicken breast is very tasty and healthy. It is one of the most nutritional meats out there. It only contains 120 calories, 70mg of cholesterol, and 1.5g of fat and it can make a much better substitute for its fried fat-loaded version.
#2 – Sausages
A common food at barbecues and tailgate parties, sausages can create havoc on your arteries. Italian Sausages, for example, contain 810mg of sodium and 22g fat (8g of which saturated) per grilled link.
Eat this instead: Smoked turkey sausages are a great option. Turkey sausages contain only 110 calories, 6g of fat (1.5g saturated) and although they’re not an everyday fare, they are a better alternative.
